This school does not provide any health benefits, or pension to teachers. The housing provided was old, dingy and disgusting. When I first started working there, I was promised certain hours, as were other teachers, and we did get our pay on time every two weeks. About two or three months into my contract, though, the school was sold to a new owner, Mrs. Noh.
Once she took over, she started to extend our hours, with no extra pay. Payments started being late, every time. She didn’t like it when we would ask her why we didn’t get paid. All we requested of her was for her to communicate to us, let us know when we could expect to be paid, but each time she refused to give us any information, and put the blame back on us. There was never any constructive feedback given, just finger pointing, and anger, and her favorite phrase, “It’s not my fault.” While I agree, she may have purchased what was already a dying business, she must have been aware of that, and should have dealt with it properly, instead of how she did.
Now, since September of 2011, there have been three teachers pull a runner from the school, and still she is telling lies about these teachers, and making it seem as though the teachers are in the wrong. She’s still refusing to pay teachers, and wants them to lie about the school when new teachers apply there. If you are applying, you can be assured that nothing is going to be the truth when it is told to you. If she promises to pay on time, and provide all benefits, then that will not be true. Sure, you may eventually get some health benefits, but you will probably have to pay for them yourself, and the housing will most likely be the dirtiest you’ve ever seen. Stay away from this school, it’s trouble, and the management clearly has no idea how to work with people who simply request a bit of communication and honesty.
