Please do not work for this employer. The owner of the school will pay you on time, but will deduct you pay for your bills and will pay them late, we received many late and disconnect notices for our utilities. The director did not pay the deposit back during the given amount of time and we had to call several of our friends to check on it for us(we have still to see it 4 months later). The owner does not pay into the retirement nor do they pay for your health insurance. Work hours are long and extra duties are asked of you. Also we had to pay for many things out of pocket regarding teaching supplies, and Korean teachers are not paid on time. It is a thankless job and the owner trreats you as a subordinate, not someone coming from your native country to teach children. If you are a true educator, dont work here it is treated as a bussiness and the students bring in money,

I agree with the previous commenters, for the most part. I worked at this academy prior to their employment. The main concern I have is the contract. The contract has a clause in it with regards to a 600,000won deduction in one month encriments of 200,000won. This is supposed to be a safety deposit to cover the apartment. Upon leaving the academy (the apartment as well) it is to be returned to the teacher.
It is coming up on 2 months since leaving the apartment and already I have been lied to as to the date of when they were going to send it. The previous commentors are currently going through this same situation as well as previous employees.
I would say to those brave enough to go through this ordeal to have that stupid clause taken out of the contract before signing it. Otherwise you can forget the money as soon they take it from your paycheck.

After months of being lead around about 3 weeks 4 weeks, next month for our depost of 60000 wan, we. tried one more time to be forthright with the owner of the school and because of our previous comments have now been told we will not be getting our deposit back. DO NOT work for these people ! , do not expect sick days as Lorey became ill when working there and was told to be back to work 2 days later. Todd and several occasions went into work with a high fever. We were expected to walk through typhon rains to get to work soaking wet, only to be laughed at with our wet clothing. DO NOT work for Jinhae wonderland, please look into the EPIC program, or if you must work for a hagwan please make sure you know someone that has worked there for more than their contractual year as most of the time the first year is great, it is the 2nd year that you see problems.
