I agree with Schaen-- pretty typical adult hagwon. Brutal split shift schedule, I worked 6:30 - 11:00 in the morning and then 6:30 - 9:30 at night with occasional afternoon kids classes thrown in; but at least they gave me a free gym membership so I could workout during the break, if I didn't need a power nap.

Unlike Kruzin, I had no problems with the owner though he definitely did not treat the Japanese or Chinese teachers as well, or as fairly as he treated the English teachers. I was always given my vacation and my flight was fully reimbursed and they're payment was never late. Also, they didn't make me teach Saturdays the whole year I was there-- though they did ask every month. There is a mandatory "hwei-shik" (office dinner/drinks/noraebong outing every month) but if you like Koreans, enjoy Korean food, and enjoy throwing back a few drinks with co-workers or ajosshi/salary-men students you won't have a problem working here or working with Cha.

Also, though Pyung-cheon is in Anyang-City (1 hr from Seoul on Line 4) i miss that neighborhood, the fresh air, and playing b-ball & running at the spacious Anyang Central Park. Not the ideal location for foreigners, but a nice touch of Korean suburbia.

Owner is a drunk with a slutty wife that likes men 20 years younger than her - this is the good news! Airfare was never refunded, vacations were not given (yet you did receive a 1/2 day salary instead a of full vacation day), and additional overtime was never paid. The Japanese teachers were treated much worse. They had to pay key money and were refunded only half of it after their contract ended. And they had to pull teeth to get that. This is one of 3 schools called Sisa PLS or Sisa Plus all run by the same devious owner named Cha.

Typical adult hagwon. The administration changes classes, etc without notifying English teachers. If they don't let you take vacation they will at least compensate you monetarily. They took us out once a month for drinking and norebang. They paid on time, including end-of-contract "bonus". They gave us free gym membership, but I've heard they've stopped that since I left. If you can put up with Koreans, you can more than tolerate this place.
