Joe is likely an AC or some management position for POLY. The original post is 100% correct. No one, unless they were absolutely desperate for money and unable to find work anywhere would stick it out in that environment. LIES, LIES, and LIES. 11 classes a day and treated awful along the way. I gotta out of POLY ASAP. You would have to be very desperate with little belief in yourself to do better to stay at POLY

However you will get paid, and get paid on time

This is a gross misrepresentation of the situation at POLY. Sadly, the individual who posted this message was highly unprofessional during her brief tenure, and while I wish no ill for this individual, I advise readers to do exhaustive research before choosing a workplace. No hagwon is perfect, but POLY is a good environment--if you're willing to make an effort.

And, interestingly, several of our teachers have stayed long beyond one contract--in spite of being financially secure. Myself included.

I could only work there a month and a half before I just couldn't take it. I taught at my first job in Seoul for the full year contract with no thoughts of leaving. I decided to try Poly for more money and found the working conditions horrible. You don't sit all day from 9am to 7:30pm. Even lunch time is crammed with checking homework and making copies because that's all the prep time you have. I don't think anyone who doesn't 100% need the money would stay there long.
