Kid’s College – Mapo: Yonggang-dong, Seoul

I was at Kid’s College Mapo for 2 years and enjoyed my teaching experience very much. The students and staff were great, and the supervisor at the time was very helpful. They didn’t have any of the problems most hagwons have. The problems came with the administration staff (principal and owner) at the end of my contract. Now, more than a year after working there I am still dealing with payment issues with this school. First, my return flight home was not in the same conditions as my flight to Korea. They flew me there in 14 hrs., but wanted me to take a 48 hour flight home. Second, and this is the problem I am STILL dealing with, they did not deduct the health care and pension fees correctly, and on my last day of work deducted around 200 000W from my paycheck to fix their mistake. (Of course I argues about this for MANY hours, but they were sneaky enough to leave it for the last moment, so I didn’t have time to look into it). NOW I am receiving emails from the NPS regarding unpaid fees and wanting to deduct more money (almost 200 000W more).
