This is a very typical lousy hogwan with incompetent, unreasonable management. The working environent was terrible and the housing very poor. Teachers are treated with no respect at all and are treated like disposable idiots. The boss can’t speak English but things he knows everything about teaching it. You’re always blamed for things you had no control over. A lot of the teaching materials are hopeless and you have almost no resources. Management never listens to any suggestions. I’d strongly recommend you keep looking.

This school is terrible. I am almost finished with my contract and I have been 2 months behind in pay several times, I have no insurance, the boss has been taking more than double the amount of tax from my paychecks, and the materials are about 10 years old. The directors can’t speak any English and they do not care about anything. I have been lied to for the past year repeatedly directly to my face and he acts like he’s doing you a favor by paying you at all. Korean teachers come and go almost monthly and students are not disciplined at all. I am currently working by myself on Tuesdays and Thursdays, there aren’t enough students to fill up the classes. Also just found out that the school has been “out of business” on paper with the government since 2010 so he pays no taxes or pension despite his promises. Run Run Run!
